FAQ
FRequently asked questions
can you book a spot for camping?
Unfortunately, there is no booking of spots at our campsite. The campsite is Lofotens biggest, meaning that we have a lot of space for the happy campers in Lofoten. We always recommend to arrive before 18.00, in order to secure yourself a spot for the evening. When you have a spot at our camp, you can extend for as long as you want, as long as you let the reception know before 12.00.
Can i pay ahead for my friends that will arrive later?
If you arrive and have friends that will arrive some hours later, normally we don’t allow to pre-pay for spots, as it breaches our first-come-first-serve principle. If we have plenty of space, then pre-paying for a friend could be arranged, but if we only have a few spots left, we can not make pre-payments for guests arriving several hours later.
Can you change spots during your stay?
Yes! If you’re camping at Lofoten Beach Camp, you’re free to change your spot as you choose. If you start by staying by the beach the first night and want to change to a spot closer to our facilities or to stay closer to new friends, you’re free to do so!
If you’re staying with us and paying for a spot with electricity, we would very much appreciate it if you let our reception know if you decide to change spot. Either for a new spot with electricity, or for a spot without. This is in order for us to keep track of how many electricity spots we have left.
where are the showers and toilets at the camp?
At the campsite, we have 2 main stations for showers and toilets. By the reception we have 6 showers and 6 toilets, divided into a male and female section. In the Beach Bar, we have 8 showers and 8 toilets, also divided into male and female sections. If you’re staying at the camp and experience long waiting periods for the Beach Bar showers/toilets, please use the facilities up by the reception!
is surfing in lofoten safe?
Since our beach in Flakstad has no rocks, strong currents or big waves, it is a perfect place to learn the basics of surfing while keeping safe. Our surf instructors have years of experience, where they’ll assist you as you’re enjoying the surfing session.
We recommend joining a surf lesson before heading for the waves on your own, as surfing is a complex and tiring sport. With the lessons you’ll learn how to disbark, handle and control the board in order to keep yourself safe, even when surfing alone.
